A Personal Film Dump
I use to love taking photos of my kids, daily. I immersed myself in it. The editing portion didn’t bother me at all. I would sit at my computer for hours, editing hundreds of personal photos. And then work picked up, and I started to resent it. Not the work, but the personal portion of what I loved to create, photographs for my children.
I decided I needed a change. A challenge. So, I picked up film. It changed EVERYTHING for me. I developed a new passion for photography. And so much of it had to do with how I was shooting and how I was spending my time. I no longer tried to perfect images, with only 36 images in a roll, I had to learn to slow down. To be intentional. To take a photo, and move on. Because I love how film looks as is, I spend hardly anytime editing my film images. I will do minor tweaks where needed but I no longer spend hours upon hours at the computer.
Film brought a light into my journey with photography that I deeply needed. I hope to photograph more film only sessions this year.
Some of my personal film images from the last couple rolls I had developed.
